United Methodist Women and The United Methodist Church's principles and values include the following:
Promoting the empowerment of women, children and youth.
Promoting anti-racism and multiculturalism.
Promoting inclusion and equity.
Promoting fair labor practices.

WHO ARE WE?

United Methodist Women is the largest denominational faith organization for women with approximately 800,000 members whose mission is fostering spiritual growth, developing leaders and advocating for justice.

Members raise up to $20 million each year for programs and projects related to women, children and youth in the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world.

OUR HISTORY

“Decades of advocacy for justice, of telling women’s stories and addressing inequality that attempts to confine women to some “proper” sphere or predetermined role has contributed to opening opportunities for women and girls both in the church and in society. Legions of women have organized and taken on responsibilities that challenged them, and these same women have given generously and sacrificially, raising funds to undergird the organization as we have responded to God’s call.

“And we have prayed. We have prayed along, we have prayed together, we have prayed for the work of the missionaries and deaconesses, the home missionaries and missioners, and for the organizations in which they serve and that we support. We prayed for workers to respond to God’s call, and we have rejoiced over each one.

“We have organized in many ways and in different relationships to the United Methodist Church and its predecessors, and we have remained committed to the Wesleyan way of piety matched with action, rooted in grace and empowered by love.”

Galloway’s United Methodist Women

As we celebrate 150 years in mission, the Galloway UMW truly sees itself as “Women United for Change,” and we welcome all of the women of Galloway to join our vision of turning faith, hope and love into action on behalf of women, children and youth around the world.

We currently have two organized circles, one that meets at 9:45 a.m. on the second and fourth Mondays of each month and one that meets at 1:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month. At the present time, both circles are meeting in Conference Room C on the first floor of the church. Beginning in January of 2020, we will be focusing on the following studies:
