WHAT WE BELIEVE

Creating a community of authentic believers.

At Galloway, our mission is to make, mature, and mobilize disciples of Jesus Christ.

At Galloway, we believe that true transformation and discipleship are lived out through the values of Love, Generosity, Justice, and Apprenticeship.

The Great Commandment

Love is the center of our faith, shaping our relationship with God and with one another.

LOVE

The Great Commitment

We give generously of our time, resources, and lives as a response to God’s abundant grace.

GENEROSITY

The Great Requirement

We seek to live out God’s justice by lifting up the poor, standing with the marginalized, and working toward a more compassionate world.

JUSTICE

The Great Commission

We follow Jesus as apprentices—learning His ways, walking in His steps, and helping others do the same.

APPRENTICESHIP

MISSION + VISION

At Galloway, our mission is to make, mature, and mobilize disciples of Jesus Christ.

    •    Make – We invite people into a life-changing relationship with Jesus and welcome all into the family of faith.

    •    Mature – We nurture spiritual growth through worship, learning, and community so that faith becomes a daily way of life.

    •    Mobilize – We empower disciples to serve others, seek justice, and share God’s love in our city and throughout the world.

This is more than a statement—it’s the heartbeat of who we are. Whether you are just beginning to explore faith or are looking for a place to go deeper, you are welcome here.

SACRAMENTS

Baptisms + Holy Communion

In the United Methodist Church, we celebrate two sacraments: Baptism and Holy Communion. A sacrament is a sacred act in which God’s grace is made visible and tangible to us through ordinary elements like water, bread, and juice. Sacraments are outward signs of inward grace—moments where heaven touches earth and we are reminded of God’s saving love in Jesus Christ.

BAPTISM

Baptism is the sacrament of new birth and belonging. Through water and the Spirit, God claims us as beloved children and marks us as members of Christ’s holy church.

• Baptism is offered to people of all ages—infants, children, youth, and adults—because it is God’s action, not ours, that makes the sacrament holy.
• In baptism, we are washed clean of sin, filled with the Spirit, and welcomed into the family of faith.
• We believe baptism is a once-in-a-lifetime event, never repeated, because God’s promises never expire.

HOLY COMMUNION

Holy Communion, also called The Lord’s Supper or The Eucharist, is the sacrament of nourishment and remembrance. In the bread and cup, Christ meets us in a mysterious and real way.

• Communion is a means of grace—God’s love reaching us right where we are, strengthening us for daily living.
• United Methodists practice an open table: all who seek Christ are welcome to receive, regardless of church membership, age, or background.
• In Communion, we remember Christ’s sacrifice, celebrate the resurrection, and look forward to the heavenly banquet where all are gathered in God’s kingdom.

WHY SACRAMENTS MATTER

The sacraments remind us that God’s grace is not just an idea—it is something we can see, touch, and taste. They anchor our lives in the promises of God:

• Baptism says: “You belong to God.”
• Communion says: “Christ is with you, now and always.”

Together, these holy moments shape us into people who live, serve, and love in the way of Jesus.
